Name
Research Symposium I:What is the Scientific Evidence for Rejection Sensitivity in ADHD?
Description
Many individuals with ADHD report experiencing a phenomenon of "rejection sensitivity," marked by rumination on social experiences that cause distress. In this research symposium, Dr. Babinski, an expert on social processes and ADHD, will share what is known about ADHD and social information processing including her own neural research that offers scientific evidence of potential rejection sensitivity pathways in the brain. She will also address questions about whether rejection sensitivity may be a feature of ADHD, a co-occurring form of anxiety that is secondary to ADHD, or something else entirely. Sex differences in social processes and ADHD will also be explored. Audience members are invited to share and ask questions of the research symposium speaker to understand the science behind their experiences.
