Speaker Bio (200 words)
I am an Associate Professor of Psychiatry and Behavioral Health and clinical psychologist within the Department of Psychiatry and Behavioral Health at the Penn State College of Medicine. I serve as a principal investigator and co-investigator on a number of studies examining the interpersonal functioning of youth, particularly, females with and without ADHD. I was selected to be a Penn State Scholar in the NIH BIRCWH K12 program, which is a research career development program focused on promoting interdisciplinary research careers in women’s health. As a BIRCWH Scholar, I have obtained additional training in advanced longitudinal statistical analysis techniques, qualitative assessment, as well as training related to applying neural methods (i.e., EEG, fMRI) to examine social mechanisms underlying affective outcomes in girls with ADHD. I was awarded a departmental endowment to further support my research career through the Tan Early Career Professorship at Penn State. I currently lead an NIMH R01 focused on developmental precursors, including ADHD, underlying risk for personality pathology in adolescence. My work seeks to integrate various methodologies to yield an integrative understanding of ADHD among girls and women.
