The Joy of Narrative Planning: Designed for the ADHD Brain
Description
The Joy of Narrative Planning for the ADHD Brain
Effective planning can be a real challenge for the neurodiverse. Executive dysfunction, time blindness, Difficulties in task initiation, prioritization, and access to working memory can all create major interference. What makes it worse is that every time you plan and fail to fulfill that plan, you add weight to the notion that there is something wrong with you. You’ve used structures like planners, apps, time blocking, and Pomodoro, which can be useful structures designed to buttress your weaknesses.
What if you could create a new approach to planning that leverages creativity, agility, and your strengths? We call this approach “Story Planning.” Story Planning uses a set of neurons and synapses that are distinct from traditional logic and play to an ADD brain’s strengths.
Inspired by the work of Angus Fletcher, author of Story Thinking and Primal Intelligence, this approach to planning utilizes your intuition, imagination, emotions and common sense to tell a unique personalized story that works with an ADHD brain and not against it. The result? Plans that are more interesting, more adaptable, and more successful.
