Why do we do what we do? There is some basic neuroscience that influences how we think and act. If you can understand the key parts of the biology behind ADHD, anxiety and depression, you can use that knowledge to better manage your ADHD, anxiety and depression. Understanding how anxiety and depression interact with ADHD is particularly useful and relevant for managing ADHD, anxiety and depression, because it leads to very practical interventions. Although obviously a complex topic, you will hear about it in easy-to-understand concepts. By the end of the talk you should be able to have an understanding about the brain areas involved in ADHD, the chemistry behind ADHD, the neural networks that switch attention on and off, and how medications for ADHD work. Plus, you will learn what kinds of activities contribute to brain health--and what sorts of activities can negatively affect your brain!
