Emotional dysregulation is a common, core symptom of ADHD that is often overlooked. Even when other treatments are effective, they don’t always address this key aspect of ADHD. Emotional reactivity can be highly disruptive for individuals and families, undermining their well-being, resilience, and social relationships, and making the implementation of other interventions for ADHD more challenging. Conversely, mindfulness, stress and anxiety management, and emotional regulation in general. What is the connection between ADHD and emotion – and what strategies work best to support adults and children in managing their emotions? How does mindfulness influence the emotional impact of ADHD – and can anyone with ADHD practice mindfulness?
