Speaker Bio (200 words)
Daltrey Abney is the Founder and Clinical Director of Discover Educational Therapy in Los Angeles. She holds a dual degree in Elementary Education and History from Boston College and a Master of Science in Psychology and Neuroscience of Mental Health from King’s College London. She completed her educational therapy training at the University of California, Riverside, and is a Professional-level Certified Educational Therapist through the Association of Educational Therapists.
Daltrey specializes in working with ADHD+ profiles—individuals with ADHD alongside co-occurring conditions such as autism, anxiety, dyslexia, dyscalculia, dysgraphia, language disorders, processing inefficiencies, and other mental health conditions. Her work focuses on translating neuroscience and executive functioning research into practical, individualized strategies that support regulation, task initiation, sustained attention, organization, and long-term independence across academic and real-world contexts. As both a clinician and neurodivergent individual, she brings a dual lens of professional expertise and lived experience to this work.
She collaborates closely with families, educators, and multidisciplinary teams to design cohesive, neurodiversity-affirming support plans. Her approach emphasizes understanding how overlapping cognitive, emotional, and regulatory systems interact, allowing for more precise and effective interventions than traditional single-diagnosis models. She is particularly focused on helping individuals build insight, self-awareness, and sustainable systems that evolve with them over time.
