My name is Kelli Zimmerman and I am a Fourth grade teacher at Schuylkill Valley School District in Pennsylvania. I have been teaching for 17 years with experience in general education and special education between the grade levels of 2nd to 6th grade. Throughout my career, I have focused on creating an environment where all students can learn using flexible seating in my room to help accomplish this as well as a movement based instructional routine. I earned my Bachelor’s degree at Albright College with a degree in Communications and certification in general education and special education. My Master’s degree is from Wilkes University where I concentrated on developmental strategies and am in the process of earning my Doctorate degree from Kutztown University for Transformational Leadership. I believe that every student deserves the opportunity to learn in an environment and with pedagogy and methodology that allows their brain to work to the best of its ability. I am passionate about brain research that allows educators to understand how learner variability should become a normal part of what we consider as we create our pedagogy and methodology.
