Dr. Carey Heller, known to many kids as “Coach Carey,” is a licensed psychologist and co-founder of the Heller Psychology Group in Bethesda, Maryland. He specializes in ADHD and executive functioning, bringing a unique clinical perspective to the world of youth sports. As a parent and veteran youth basketball and baseball coach, he is dedicated to helping young athletes with ADHD thrive both on and off the field (or court). Dr. Heller blends his professional knowledge of ADHD with hands-on coaching experience to help athletes navigate the specific challenges of team sports.
In addition to his work with the practice, Dr. Carey Heller has a faculty appointment as an assistant clinical professor of clinical psychology at The George Washington University, providing assessment supervision to graduate students. He also serves on the board of the Montgomery County chapter of Children and Adults with Attention-Deficit/Hyperactivity Disorder (CHADD) as the chapter coordinator as well as on the board of Washington Independent Services For Educational Resources (WISER) as president. Furthermore, Dr. Heller is on the National CHADD Board as the chair of the Editorial Advisory Board (EAB) for CHADD’s Attention Magazine.
