Shelly Levy, serves as Director of Professional Development and Training at the Research Institute for Learning and Development in Lexington, MA where she spearheads all educator and teacher training programs. Shelly leads professional development workshops and webinars, sharing her expertise in executive function strategy instruction, learning differences, and best practices with educators nationwide. She also provides direct coaching to both general and special education teachers, fostering enhanced instructional capabilities across diverse learning environments. She is a contributing author of the chapter “The SMARTS Approach: Going Beyond the Three R’s to Foster Reasoning, Regulation, and Resilience” in Dr. Lynn Meltzer’s book Executive Function and Emotional Regulation in the Classroom (2026).
As an experienced Educational Specialist, Shelly works with students from elementary through college levels, who struggle with learning, attention, and executive function challenges. She provides specialized instruction and academic support in the areas of reading, writing, test preparation, and executive function skills.
With over 35 years of experience in the field of Special Education, the majority as a Director of Support Services, Shelly brings a wealth of practical knowledge.
