Scott Spradlin completed DBT intensive training with Marsha Linehan and Linda Dimeff in 2000 in Seattle, Washington, while providing DBT services at the Portland DBT Program, now known as the Portland DBT Institute, in Portland, Oregon. Presently, he and his wife, Mariah, co-direct Wichita DBT at NorthStar Therapy in Wichita, KS.
Scott has been an adjunct instructor at Wichita State University’s College of Education and School Psychology (CESP), teaching courses including Introduction to DBT, DBT for Difficult-to-Treat Clients, The Assessment and Treatment of Self-Harm and Suicidality, and the Ethical Integration of Religion and Spirituality in Psychotherapy. He has spoken on DBT and other topics at Portland State University, George Fox University, and Friends University. He presented continuing education programs across the US for PESI, Inc. from 2008 to 2010. Presently, he continues to provide training and education to healthcare, mental health, and education professionals in organizations and communities across Kansas.
He is the author of Don’t Let Your Emotions Run Your Life: How Dialectical Behavior Therapy Can Change Your Life (2003) and is presently co-authoring the DBT Skills Training Workbook for ADHD Adults to be published by New Harbinger Publications in 2026.
