Name
RSD & ADHD Peer Support Group
Description
In this peer support session, the presenter will open the session by establishing a shared foundation as we briefly learn how to define and identify Rejection Sensitive Dysphoria (RSD). Rather than viewing RSD's intense emotional responses as personal failings, we will reframe them as systemic neurological events. By learning to distinguish between visible reactions to RSD events and underlying behavioral patterns, we can begin to navigate our experiences with greater clarity and less shame. Next, we will move into small groups to connect with others who share lived experiences of RSD. By connecting in community about our RSD experiences, we can break the isolation neurodivergent adults often feel, creating a safe space to find validation among peers who truly understand the "thousand tiny cuts" of living with RSD. After sharing our experiences, we will then transition into a collaborative brainstorming session focused on practical, life-enhancing strategies. Together, we will explore actionable ways to build a strong sense of self that remains independent of external validation. Our discussion will also cover how to connect authentically with others, protect time for the hobbies that fuel us, and intentionally increase our overall capacity for life enjoyment.
