Name
Working With Your Future Self: An ADHD-Informed Approach to Sleep
Description
If you know sleep matters but still can't make yourself go to bed, the problem isn't motivation — it's that most sleep strategies are designed for a version of you that doesn't exist at midnight. This session explores the ADHD neurological and executive functioning factors behind the most common nighttime patterns — dopamine loops, revenge bedtime procrastination, and urgency-driven late-night work — and introduces a framework for designing sleep supports around who you actually are at the end of the day. Using a “multiple-self” model that captures the ADHD experience, guided case study, and participant discussion, attendees will learn to build structures from their highest-capacity moments that genuinely support their most depleted ones. Practical takeaways apply equally to personal use and to work with ADHD clients.
