The ADHD Lens in Action: How the Right Question Changes Everything
Description
Coaches often find themselves asking:
“Why isn’t this working?”
“Why can’t they follow through?”
“Why do we keep coming back to the same challenge?”
What if the issue isn’t the strategy, but the lens?
In ADHD coaching, the way we interpret client behavior directly shapes the questions we ask, the direction we take, and the outcomes we create. When we stay at the level of behavior, we risk applying strategies that don’t match what’s actually driving the challenge.
In this session, participants will apply powerful questioning through the ADHD Lens to deepen their understanding of what is driving client challenges across five key domains: nervous system regulation, executive functioning, emotional regulation and rejection sensitivity, motivation and dopamine, and environment and external supports.
Through guided scenarios and applied discussion, participants will explore how different questions lead to different insights and more precise coaching interventions. The session also includes a peer-driven toolkit exchange, where participants share practical strategies, questions, and tools.
This session supports coaches in moving from asking, “What’s wrong?” to understanding, “What’s really happening?” and responding with greater clarity, flexibility, and confidence.
